Let me introduce myself…
I am Lona Smith, originally from Denmark, but have lived in Southern California since 1968.
I started sewing in 1969The Lead-up to Dance…
In the corporate world, Marketing, Computing, Efficiency Expert, Analyst & Trainor were my main hats that I wore for nearly 35 years.
During this same time frame, I got married to a great guy, and we raised two wonderful kids.
Marriage & family is what took sewing to a new level: home decor, Hawaiian shirts & children’s wear. I started sewing knits in 1982, when my son was born, and Spandex in 1993, when my daughter started dance.

Volume costumes…
Daughter Tracy, now a master teacher, opened a dance studio, and the need for costuming, alterations, props & accessories grew exponentially. I also costumed my own students.
Sewing costumes as a hobby allows me to continue my creative niche. Each year, I offer ample time to create each & every costume that I commit to do in a manner that my customers expect: quality craftmanship & an excellent fit, all done with name-brand embellishments & supplies.
