$100 Ready-made costumes, accessories, and DIY materials. Alterations start at $15. Sewing patterns for experienced sewists cost around $55.
$200 Entry-level Plain Brown Label (PBL) semi-custom costumes, where customers provide a base. Options for rhinestone embellishments or a “war-torn” style. Separates and accessories available.
$300 HotMess Dance Apparel (HMDA) bases start in the high $200s. Extra budget allows for more embellishments on PBL separates. Ready-made and clearance costumes available.
$400–$475 PBL Custom Costumes in this range feature rhinestones, Chandelle or Marabou feathers, and chainette fringe. Smaller costumes allow for more embellishments.
$500 ContenderWear costumes start at this price, including at least 10 gross of rhinestones. A PBL custom costume with extra embellishments is also an option.
$600+ ContenderWear Custom Costumes with ostrich feathers or beaded fringe begin at $600. Upgrades to Preciosa Maxima or Austrian rhinestones can add $500+. Some customers spend between $1,100–$1,800 on premium costumes.
